1 Daemonic Inspiration: The Art of Skinner

A Claw By SKINNER
The Warp is an alternate dimension of purely psychic energy that echoes and underlies the familiar four dimensions of the material universe.  It is the source of all psychic powers and known instances of so-called "sorcery" and the home dimension of the Chaos Gods and their myriad daemonic servants.

What does the warp look like though?  To view would to be to give into insanity itself.  If I were to imagine what it truly looked like though i would have to say it would be The Art of Skinner.  According to his website "Skinner is a self-taught artist from Sacramento, California who has meticulously crafted a balance of extraordinary mural work, mighty powerful wall to wall installations and a prolific commercial career. Influenced by 80’s pop culture, human struggle, myths and violence dungeons and dragons and the heavy metal gods, Skinner’s mind is one full of mayhem fuelled by a calculated chaos. His work has been shown all over the Universe at places like the museum of graphic design in Breta, Netherlands, Japan, Illustrative festival in Berlin, Germany, France and the states from LA to New York and in between..recently participating in the epic suggestivism show at the Grand Central Arts Center. His most recent solo exhibit entitled The Fear You May Know reigned at the White Walls Gallery in San Francisco in the summer of 2010. Skinner’s work has made known in various publications including Blisss, Juxtapoz, Hi Fructose and Beautiful/Decay."
Let Him Come. But Know what You Have Done by SKINNER
For me though he encapsulates the Warp through his art.  The imagery that he has pulled from the dark recesses of his mind are truly diabolic in nature; Chaos itself.  Raging battles between various Daemonic creatures and man himself.  What pulls me into the madness of his work is the plethora of colours.  Utilizing each and every colour while striking balance amongst the Chaos of contrast and compliment is a testament to his skill.
The Iron Hand of Death, Our Hand, Your Death
Each and every time I look at his art work (which can be found here)I am drawn to building a Chaos Daemons army.  I would love to encapsulate his artistic style into a Warhammer Chaos Army.  A Daemonic Inspiration is what his art is.  To due it justice I would look at converting the majority of the army while sampling al four of the Gods of Chaos.  The euphoric ecstasy that this would provide me would send me into a modelling seizure like no other.  The fun would not even start till it was time to paint.  With the shackles of conformity removed I would be able to give my mind over to Slaanesh thus enabling me to sample each and every colour to the fullest.

The sheer attraction of such a project is extremely hard for me to deny.  Due to lack of plastic kits available, time itself being against me and the high cost of such a project I am force to bottle the idea away.  It will sit on a self in the back corner of my mind rotting and blossoming for when I am ready to unleash the hell that it will become; a Chaos Daemon Army.
